The Syrian refugee crisis has presented unique opportunities and challenges in the planning world. In this project, I chose to tackle the issue of the physical design of refugee settlements. Inspired by Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, I designed a site plan for a long-term camp in Turkey that includes specific amenities needed to become sustainabale, just and secure.
